National Geographic International Photography Contest

The annual National Geographic International Photography Contest

An immigrant from the war-torn region of Darfur, Sudan, watches the United States presidential battle in his new home in Brooklyn, NY. Brooklyn has a growing population of refugees and immigrants from the area who have joined together to create a new home for themselves in the United States.

Send in your best photos in three categories—People, Places, and Nature—for a chance to win a digital camera kit and have your image printed in National Geographic magazine. Photos will be judged on creativity and photographic quality. Winners will be entered into the Worldwide International Photography Contest.

You can submit up to six photos between now and October 31, 2009. Winners will be announced in early December. There is an entry fee of U.S. $12 for each photo. (See FAQ and Rules for more information.)
